"In the early 1980's I was fascinated by science fiction and fantasy art. It was around this time that I began teaching myself how to airbrush. As a medium, I caught on to it pretty quick. Through most of the mid 80's the majority of my commercial illustration work was done in airbrush. These pieces are dated before my popular image "Black Is Black". As I look back on these pieces I thought that most of my current collectors and art enthusiasts have never seen most of this work. Original works from this era were either sold inexpensively or were amongst thousands of paintings and drawings lost in the fire at my studio in 1995. My mother had a few of them in her collection that were hidden from me and I thought my collectors would have fun viewing them. If you are one of the lucky souls that have collected any of these works....they are very valuable pieces."
