Handle your Bibbzness

The 2nd Annual Hardy Brown Celebration on behalf of The Black Voice Foundation recently honored Artist Charles A. Bibbs. It was a fitting tribute to an artist known for his philanthropic contributions and community involvement. The Riverside Convention Center housed the red carpet event honoring Mr. Bibbs. The celebration was attended by over 300 artists, dignitaries, celebrities, and most of all his family. Many of the people that were inspired and touched by Charles gave tributes.

Larry Poncho Brown was asked to create something in honor of Charles, but he felt it needed to fit the occasion. He conceptualized creating a portrait of Charles which was cut it into several sections and mailed all over the country to his artist family. This historic portrait is the first 23 artist collaboration featuring renowned artists Deborah Shedrick, Roedrick Vines, Deborah Jeter, Sylvia L. Walker, Jose Sebourne, Gwendolyn E. Redfern, Paul Goodnight, Alva McNeal, Joyce Lomax, Maurice Evans, Grace Kisa, Kenneth Gatewood, Larry O. Brown,Sr., Karen Y. Buster, Frank Frazier, Femi Trimnell, Frank Morrison, Cal Massey, Ted T. Ellis, Kevin A. Williams, Dane Tilghman, Synthia Saint James and Larry Poncho Brown!!

At the award ceremony Charles had a loss of words when this original was unveiled. He later said
"One of the greatest honors that can be bestowed on an individual is a gift of honor from his peers. I am considerably honored to receive this beautiful collaboration dedication image from my fellow artists. You can be sure that this special piece will be treasured as a true legacy and testament of our love and friendship. My heartfelt thanks to all of you." Frank Morrison's title was fitting...... "Handle Ya Bibbzness".
